Thunderbird shared a similar history to his Earth-616 counterpart until he joined the new X-Men to rescue the prior team from being trapped on Krakoa. He along with all other X-Men present died when Krakoa was thrown into space as they did not escape the island in time. After his death his brother joined the X-Men and took his brother's alias to seek vengeance for the death of his brother.[1]
