History

John Warden was a Psi-agent of S.H.I.E.L.D., assigned to a set of nine shadow facilities in the United States. He was contacted by Nick Fury from the Andes Mountains where a hidden colony of aliens were found to be using their cumulative psychic power to draw an asteroid towards Earth on a collision course, but was stymied to find that the whole of the Psi-division, even channeling their energies through their telepathic amplifier system, wasn't enough to penetrate the aliens' efforts.

Years later, when S.H.I.E.L.D. was infiltrated during the Secret Invasion and subsequently disassembled, Warden's job was to mindwipe the agents at the shadow facilities and then proceed to Red Worm, the psi-agent proceeding and quarantine facility, to be placed in bio-stasis, in which he remained, considered as an active agent, as S.H.I.E.L.D. was dismantled and replaced by H.A.M.M.E.R..He did this job admirably.

Red Worm was subsequently raided by Hydra. Three psi-agents were revived too fast, and at least two of them were consequently executed, while the rest were kidnapped by Hydra and repurposed for their own needs. Warden's fate remains unknown.
