History
John Warden was a Psi-agent of S.H.I.E.L.D., assigned to a set of nine shadow facilities in the United States.[citation needed] He was contacted by Nick Fury from the Andes Mountains where a hidden colony of aliens were found to be using their cumulative psychic power to draw an asteroid towards Earth on a collision course, but was stymied to find that the whole of the Psi-division, even channeling their energies through their telepathic amplifier system, wasn't enough to penetrate the aliens' efforts.[1]
Years later, when S.H.I.E.L.D. was infiltrated during the Secret Invasion and subsequently disassembled, Warden's job was to mindwipe the agents at the shadow facilities and then proceed to Red Worm,[citation needed] the psi-agent proceeding and quarantine facility,[2][3] to be placed in bio-stasis, in which he remained, considered as an active agent,[4] as S.H.I.E.L.D. was dismantled and replaced by H.A.M.M.E.R..He did this job admirably.[citation needed]
Red Worm was subsequently raided by Hydra. Three psi-agents were revived too fast, and at least two of them were consequently executed, while the rest were kidnapped by Hydra[3] and repurposed for their own needs.[5] Warden's fate remains unknown.Attributes
