A boxing bout is taking place between the United States Navy's Gorilla Riff and United States Army's Jumping Jacks. Rolly and Solly decide to check up on their fighter when Rolly accidently gets Jacks knocked out and unable to fight for the bout. Rolly is substituted into the fight where he tries to get out of the fight but ends up being forced into it by Solly. Rolly ends up winning when he gets the referee to accidently knock out Gorilla and gaining the nickname "Tiger". Rolly is soon disqualified however after a horseshoe that was placed in his glove for good luck by Solly falls out.

Skinny and Herby glad to be outside of school and away from books decide to go treasure hunting. The two find something digging, but it turns out to be schoolbooks belonging to a classmate named Alec who lost them the previous month. His father thinking it's a good idea goes to the department store to buy some skates of his own while also picking up a bib for the baby. Upon returning he mentions they were all out of bibs so he got the baby a rubber chest protector instead.

Synopsis for "Powerhouse Pepper"

Pepper accidently destroys some of Gertie's family slobberware so her mother kicks Pepper out. Pepper in a depressed mood goes to see the show of Buster Blubberbrain and ends up showing him up. Powerhouse wins $500 and a new set of slobberware for Gertie's mother. Gertie's mother is happy and so Gertie and Pepper are allowed to spend time together again.
