History

Born in Uganda, Officer Jonathan Payton "Black Jack" Cole was police officer with the NYPD in New York City. Called "Jack" (short for Jonathan) and nicknamed "Black Jack" because of his dark skin tone, Cole married Ruth and the pair had one son named Kevin Cole, but nicknamed "Kasper" because of his light skin tone. Around this same time, Black Jack also fathered another son, Nigel "Triage" Blacque, with an unidentified woman.

Although he was revered by his son who considered him to be "the greatest cop who ever lived", Black Jack became involved in organized crime and joined the 66 Bridges Gang that he would later go on to lead. Black Jack was eventually arrested from some of his crimes when Kasper was a teenager. However, Black Jack has continued to run the 66 Bridge Gang from inside prison with the help of Triage.

• Jonathan's wife Ruth is white and Jewish.

Trivia

• Jonathan got the nickname "Black Jack" because of his dark complexion. His bi-racial son Kevin was very light skinned and was given the nickname "Kasper" after Casper the Friendly Ghost.
