History

The Midgard Serpent shared a similar history to its Prime Marvel Universe counterpart until its battle with Thor. Due to an alternate Wolverine's time-travel breaking different realities, Thor had a sudden aneurysm and died. The Avengers tried to stop the serpent but were killed. Ultimately Ragnarok spread to Earth and Frost Giants began to invade. A small handful of heroes, including Colonel Fury and Black Widow, formed a team of Defenders to resist the onslaught. Black Widow lifted Mjolnir, gained the powers of Thor, and killed the Serpent.
