History
Joey Gutierrez is an Inhuman who underwent Terrigenesis after taking fish oil vitamins contaminated with Terrigen, and subsequently gained the ability to liquefy metals up to three meters away. Since he had no control over his powers, he created a chaotic situation in the streets of Seattle as metal structures collapsed and vehicles exploded all around him. News of the chaos drew the attention of the A.T.C.U., but a team of S.H.I.E.L.D. agents led by Daisy Johnson intervened before they could apprehend him.
Joey was transported back to the Playground where he was isolated and kept under constant watch. Daisy, herself an Inhuman, told Joey about what was happening to him. Although he initially refused to believe her and cooperate with S.H.I.E.L.D., Joey eventually came to accept his new reality.[2]
He was later transported to The Cocoon where he learned to control his powers. As Dr. Andrew Garner was doing another evaluation, possibly intending to kill him (Andrew being secretly an Inhuman named Lash killing his fellow he thought dangerous), Jose was evacuated by S.H.I.E.L.D. agents while Agent May confronted Dr. Garner.[3]Attributes
