Joseph "Crusher" Hogan was a wrestler fighting in exhibition matches, where anybody who could take him would win 500 Dollars. He was challenged and defeated by Peter Parker in disguise who wanted to test his newfound powers as Spider-Man and earn money.
Spider-Man was hired to beat up Crusher every time he performed until the day he was accused of stealing from petty cash fund.[citation needed]
