History
Joe Wade was an agent of the FBI sent undercover to investigate Doctor Octopus. He was found out and trapped in a machine connected to a virtual reality program. The program made Joe pilot an evil hologram impersonating the Scarlet Spider. Ben damaged the machine, causing Joe to become trapped in a cybernetic army with the program still influencing him.[1]
He went on a rampage as the new Scarlet Spider, until he was captured by Ben and the FBI. The FBI tried to reverse his modifications, and while they couldn't undo his cybernetics, Joe was given control back. Now rebranded as a hero, Scarlet Spider was brought to Earth-41940 by Peter Parker to help the Spider-Men battle the Inheritors.[1]
