Synopsis for "The Vampire's Fangs"

A stowaway on a freighter is bitten by a vampire bat and transforms into a bat. After draining one of the crew of his blood, he hides in a casket that is being shipped over the ocean. Because of the weird goings on aboard, however, the superstitious crewmen dump the casket overboard.

Synopsis for "The World's End!"

An astronomical disaster means the destruction of human civilization. Our story's protagonist is despondent over this state of affairs until he encounters a group of time travelers who are present to record the last days of humanity. One of them has a name similar to his own and tells him a small number of people will survive and pass down their names. This heartens the man as he now knows that he is destined to be one of the few who survive.

Synopsis for "Weather Balloons"

A scientist debates another about the nature of UFOs, as to whether they are invading aliens or weather balloons. The debate is brought to an abrupt halt as aliens burst in and take the group captive. The scientist is enraged and wants to throttle the other who kept insisting for years that UFOs were weather balloons. The other scientist removes a human face mask revealing an alien underneath and says "they were OUR weather balloons."

Reprint of the 2nd story from
Astonishing #10
Professor Rall, a scientist, built a time machine and invites his friend and neighbor Harold Bevinson over to take it out for a test run before making it public. Professor Rall shows Harold the Battle of Gettysburg as well as George Washington crossing the Delaware River. While viewing George Washington the machine knocks him into the river almost drowning him but Harold jumps him and saves him with the Rall picking Harold up without anyone noticing which makes Rall declare Harold Bevinson a hero.
