A man buys a telescope with a powerful lens from an alien spy. The man sees an impending invasion fleet through the telescope. The alien spy tracks him down and knocks him out and switches the telescope with a normal one so that no one knows the man got the powerful telescope by accident.

Synopsis for "Mantrap!"

Johnny Ryan, an able bodied seaman, acquires a job on the S.S Lorelei. While heading towards the ship a ghoulish sailor warns him that it is filled with vampires and that he had seen their coffins. Johnny shrugs off the man and assumes him to be drunk and continues on his way. Upon boarding the ship he finds it empty where sailors usually reside. Checking the cargo he learns the sailor was telling the truth as he sees numerous coffins on board. As the sun fades the crew of vampires attack him. Barely escaping the ship with his life, he contacts the authorities. The police send a patrol care and inform him that not only does no such ship exist but the pier it was supposedly docked at burned down in a fire six months prior.
