Synopsis for "Return to the Savage Land!"

Ka-Zar returns to the Savage Lands by means of a SHIELD plane and a courageous jump with his friend and pet Zabu. Upon reaching the beaches of the isle, Ka-Zar decided to take a swim in its waters. His relaxing swim was soon met by a giant snake which he quickly slew then soon after the death of a shark that attacked him after smelling blood in the water. Following the battle Ka-Zar returned to the beach and stated his happiness to return to the dangerous land he feels like he belongs in even if it meant parting with Agent Bobbi Morse who he ha become close with during his travels away from his bestial lands.

Meanwhile at the former Castle of Iranda the Lizard-Queen a new residence takes occupancy in the form of Malgato the Red Wizard and Maa-Gor the Man-Ape who plot to use Ka-Zar for their own purposes. The Red Wizard relays a tale of the Savage Land to Maa-Gor about how it once used to be called Paradise until the Cataclysm occurred and how if not for the volcanic walls that surround the lands it would have shared the same fate as Atlantis. Over time however the remnants of the population turned against each other and those that survived faced a harsh cold until they came to an ancestor of Malgato whom performed a ritual for the Sun-God Garokk. The ritual provided heat to the snowy lands and kept its creatures warmed across time which allowed clans like the Fall People to form. Malgato went on to explain that disaster was nearing however describing the many resent events that Ka-Zar had fought against which is why they need him now.

Malgato then released some of his trained Pterodactyls to retrieve the lord of the jungle which they do by way of capturing Zabu and Ka-Zar not wishing to leave his friend rides with him to the castle. Soon after arriving and prepared for a fight Malgato first offers a parley. The Red wizard informs Ka-Zar that he requires the sacrifice of a man and woman for the ritual to the Sun-God. Ka-Zar refuses and the wizard entraps him with a planned net trap and has Maa-Gor beat him with a large club, but Ka-Zar and Zabu escape with Maa-Gor pursing him. Maa-Gor and Ka-Zar fight, after first commanding Zabu to flee. What should be an easy win for Ka-Zar he soon realizes Maa-Gor is more than what he appears, as Malgato had placed a strength spell on the Man-Ape. Maa-Gor's strength and speed are too much for Ka-Zar who is rendered uncouncious through strangulation. Maa-Gor would have killed Ka-Zar if not for the image of Malgato commanding him to instead bring him back to the red wizard.

Once awake Ka-Zar still refuses to sacrifice himself, so Malgato introduces his female sacrificial companion, Shanna the She-Devil...

Synopsis for "The Fall of the Red Wizard!"

Zabu rescues Ka-Zar and Shanna from the Red Wizard and Maa-Gor. Malgato tries to convince them that their willing sacrifice is required to maintain the Savage Land's warm climate, but when they refuse to listen to him, he ejects them from the castle through a trap chute that dumps them into the lake, threatening that they will soon see the coming catastrophe firsthand.

Returning to dry land, Shanna introduces herself to Ka-Zar, explaining how she had been abducted from her African jungle by Pterodactyls in the thrall of the Red Wizard. Shanna steadfastly refuses to believe in magic, theorizing Malgato may be a mutant to account for his powers.

Ka-Zar takes Shanna to the village of the Fall People, where the villagers are disappointed that the heroes did not accept the honor of being sacrifices. When a triceratops rampages through the village, the Fall People are convinced that Ka-Zar's blasphemy has doomed them and turn on him and Zabu. Shanna, concocting a plan, ends the conflict with the villagers by knocking out Ka-Zar and taking him back to Malgato's castle.

Shanna convinces Malgato that she and Ka-Zar will jump into his pit of flames willingly, but instead they leap at the fire bowl standing in the pit, knocking it over and ruining the sacrifice. Shanna finds and tears out the castle's wiring, confirming her suspicions that the pterodactyl that abducted her and the triceratops that attacked the village were robots when they start to break down. Malgato confesses that he exploited the people's legends to control them and escapes, leaving behind his robes and a rubber mask of his apparent face.

Later, Ka-Zar reconciles with the villagers, who promise to only sacrifice animals in the future. Shanna patches up Zabu and then leaves to resume her search for her father.

An actor from yesteryear longs to return to the stage, but no agents can offer him any work. Disheartened, he resolves put aside the past and packs up his mementos to place them in storage. As he is driving to the address he was given over the phone, he holds the note upside down and drives to the wrong address. When he enters the building, he finds it to be in reality a disguised spaceship of aliens planning an attack upon Earth. He quickly resolves to ambush the spy they are waiting upon, and using makeup, takes his place. He gives the finest performance of his life in convincing the aliens that he's infected with a deadly virus and they must leave this world while he remains behind in a noble act of self-sacrifice.
