Synopsis for ""He Ain't Heavy...""
Ka-Zar, Shanna, and Zabu are on their way back to the Savage Land after being banished from Pangea.[1] Ka-Zar kicks out Zabu from their shelter for taking up too much room and instantly regrets it but Shanna tries to use it as an opportunity for intimacy.
Meanwhile, Parnival Plunder has returned to the Savage Land in search of Anti-Metal and encounters the Karem Tribe, hoping to bribe them to help him find some. He’s able to convince some of the younger members of the tribe with a Q-Bert portable video game device.
Ka-Zar, Shanna, and Zabu continue their trek as Ka-Zar imagines a life with Shanna fifteen years in the future in which Shanna is the archetypal “nagging wife” while their daughter is interested in dating an actual caveman. Parnival is meanwhile roosting at Ka-Zar's Tree House and continuing to work with the Karems to find the anti-metal.
Shanna meanwhile has her own daydream about her future married life with Ka-Zar in the guise of an episode of “I Love Lucy” as she criticizes Ka-Zar for always being at the club all day while she’s forced to stay home and watch “Little Zabu” and they have an argument. Back in the real world, they finally manage to cross the cliff wall between Pangea and the Savage Land and soon return back to the tree house where they encounter an initially hostile Parnival Plunder. Parnival apologizes thinking Ka-Zar had been killed[2] and begs Ka-Zar to allow him to make amends for his past transgressions. Shanna is enthralled by Parnival’s charm but Ka-Zar doesn’t trust him and reluctantly agrees to him staying with them.
Ka-Zar reimagines a daydream of their childhood in which their father gifted them small pieces of anti-metal and Parnival suckered the younger Kevin of his piece. Despite his misgivings, Parnival seems to fit in well with their family and helps out significantly. Zabu one day encounters Karem tribesmen attacking their leader Beel in search of the anti-metal for Parnival and succeed in getting what they need. Zabu tries to warn Ka-Zar but he is oblivious to his pleas and Parnival is later seen receiving a gift of anti-metal from one of his Karem cronies.
