—Unnamed old woman[source]I beseech you to bypass the city of Kadath! Beware especially of the house of Manu-Kaleem. The dread of untold evil lies there!
History
Kadath was a city during the Hyborian Age, located eastward of Northern Koth.
It was inhabited by Manu-Kaleem, who allegedly terrorized the population at the point even pickpockets and thieves remained home at night.[1]
Kadath was also a name invoked during incantations.[2][3]
Economy[]
The people of Kadath used and/or accepted as currencies copper and silver pieces, and talents of silver and gold. Such currencies were also mentioned as "Shekels".[1]

Notes
- Kadath was a city created by H.P. Lovecraft in The Dream-Quest of Unknown Kadath (presumably written in 1926-27, published posthumously in 1943).
- In Marvel Comics, the sole appearance of Kadath was in "Star of Thamazhu", written by Larry Yakata and penciled by Pablo Marcos in Savage Sword of Conan #120 (January, 1986), where it served as a stand-in for Zamboula, given the plot of "Star of Thamazhu" is very similar to that of the original Conan story "Shadows in Zamboula" (Weird Tales; November, 1935) by Robert E. Howard. The invocations of Kadath in invocations fits more to the original creation.
Trivia
- The name "Kadath" was possibly inspired in name by Kadesh, the name of middle-eastern cities, including Kadesh from the biblical lore, which was also used as the name for the base of Blue Marvel.
- The Appendix to the Handbook of the Marvel Universe considered the "Kadeth" (possibly a misspelling or variation of Kadath) invoked in What If? #40 (August, 1983) to be a mystical entity.[5]
