History
Encounter with Spider-Man[]
On behalf of Iron Man, she investigated Bilderberg Academy, an elite boarding school after its students start displaying super-powers. She stumbled into Spider-Man during the mission, and together they discovered the academy was a front for A.I.M.. After defeating the organization's operatives and saving the Hulk, Captain America and Captain Marvel from captivity, Kamala and Spider-Man became friends.[1]
Attack of Atlantis[]
Kamala, along with the other Avengers, attended the welcome party for T'Challa's sister, Shuri. The party is interrupted by news of an attack on the bridge by Atlantis. Kamala has been in the fight against them and has fought the Atlantean monster.[2]
Later, Kamala was present at the Avengers meeting regarding Black Panther's recent actions, where she witnessed his departure from the Avengers.[3]
Visit to New Attilan[]
Kamala was called by T'Challa to go with him to a meeting in New Attilan, where she meets Crystalia Amaquelin there. After the meeting, while Black Bolt and Medusa argue, Kamala and T'Challa investigate a part of Attilan which was teeming with spider-like beings. The two are trapped by the beings, but are saved by Crystalia, who was behind to inform them that Black Bolt decided not to help them.
Kamala begs Crystalia to help the two, and she accepts, leading the two to the key's chamber, where T'Challa reveals to Kamala that he had brought her to open the chamber in case Black Bolt refuses T'Challa's request for help. After T'Challa takes the key, Crystalia betrays the two by turning into a copy of Kamala and knocking them out. Being thrown into a hole by Crystalia, Crystalia reveals that she wasn't who Kamala and T'Challa thought she was, she was actually Zanda in disguise this whole time. After Zanda has gone underground (covering the hole), Kamala and T'Challa find the real Crystalia in the hole, who helps them escape. T'Challa and Kamala go after Zanda and fight her until Medusa and Black Bolt appear and stop the fight. Kamala and T'Challa leave New Attilan with the key, and T'Challa thanks Kamala for going with him on the mission.[4]
Death of Captain America[]
Kamala along with Carol were sent to go after T'Challa for having "killed" Captain America. As Carol fights T'Challa, Kamala goes after Shuri and fights her. The two are defeated by the siblings.[5]
Kamala was at Captain America's funeral, tearfully mourning him as Carol comforted her.[6]
Superior Spider-Man[]
When Spider-Man's mind was temporarily taken over by Otto Octavius, Kamala was warned by Miles Morales about the sudden change of the hero in personality. Along with the Avengers, she confronted Spider-Man. After being convinced by "Peter", she comes to the conclusion that he has changed his personality.[7]
She later received a call from Spider-Man, whom she informed that their friendship was over. Soon after, she was kidnapped along with the other Avengers by the Regent and ended up in an empty dimension, but they were saved by Spider-Man that explained to her why he was so different, and the two became friends again.[8][9]Paraphernalia
