Kareem was one of the citizens of Al Wazirabad targeted by Roxxon for opposing their oil drilling operations in said country.
He accepted Deadpool into the city Al Fariq once the mercenary showed intentions to help them defeat Roxxon.[1] Even though Deadpool helped Kareem and the other citizens fight back, Deadpool was ultimately defeated by Omega Red. Kareen, Deadpool, and the rest of the citizens were transported to Roxxon's camp to be killed. As Roxxon's soldiers started murdering them and dropping them in mass graves, Deadpool escaped custody just in time to save Kareem and his son. They later took control of a helicopter and escaped.[2]
