History

Karolina Dean (Earth-616) from Runaways Vol 1 4 001

Karolina's bracelet inhibiting her powers

Originally believed by Karolina Dean to be a normal medical alert bracelet to warn about a penicillin allergy. However, when the Runaways were discovering the truth about their parents, Karolina and the others also discovered that the bracelet was actually made of a metallic material designed to inhibit her true nature and abilities to make her appear human.[5]

When she left Earth with Xavin to try to end the Skrull-Majesdanian War, Karolina gave the bracelet to Nico.[3] Nico kept the bracelet safe until Karolina's return when Xavin took possession of it.[4]

When Karolina believed she had to leave Earth to face trial, she gave the bracelet to Molly Hayes for safekeeping.[6]

It appears that Molly returned the bracelet to Karolina, and she has been seen again using it to suppress her abilities while attending Pomona College.[7]

Properties

Karolina Dean's medical alert bracelet is made out of a metallic material that naturally suppresses her her Majesdanian abilities.[8][9][10] With practice, Karolina was able to appear human without her bracelet,[11][1] but still employs the use of her bracelet at times.[12][7]
