History
Katherine Pryde was a member of the Opposition, an armed resistance group formed by mutant and humans seeking to overthrow the government of the Eurasian Republic and its leaders, the Rasputin family. She was originally born in the North American Union only to be expatriated to the Republic, where she joined the Opposition.[2]
Allegedly, Pryde, along with her associate Henry McCoy and her partner Remy LeBeau, was the author of a terrorist attack that took place around spring 2024 in Novosibirsk, the "Mikhail Massacre", that resulted in the death of one of the leaders of the country, Mikhail Rasputin. Since the Mikhail Massacre, LeBeau and Pryde have been on the run, along with their driver, Gregor Smerdyakov, who unfortunately was killed in a raid by the forces of the Republic in March 2025. The couple recruited a new driver for their activities, a former agent of the Republic, Natalia Romanova.[2]
Around a week after the death of Smerdyakov, while the three were stationing in an Opposition's base in Smolensk, they were attacked by Directorate X, which sent against them many human agents and one mutant assassin, the Winter Soldier, formerly a member of the Opposition himself and a friend of theirs named Logan, now brain-washed by the government. The trio barely managed to escape the man who was, once upon a time, an ally, saving a group of mutant children the Opposition was protecting in the meantime.[2]
In summer 2025, after Logan was cured of his brain-washing by The One,[3] she tried to comfort him, as he felt guilty for murders he committed while in the hands of the Eurasian Republic. Kitty, Gambit and Logan, along with other Opposition members, became part of a team of high-skilled agents that had to infiltrate the prison of Stabil'nyy, where many mutants were incarcerated and experimented on by Alonya Prostovich and Directorate X:[1] there they rescued the dangerous cyborg mutant known as Angel.[4]Attributes
