History
Kelkor was a Lemurian mercenary, and one of the Red Slayers.
He commanded the Red Slayers as they accompanied King Kull in his eastward track of Felnar of Farsun who insulted Kull. As Kull crossed the Stagus River and into the trap of Thulsa Doom who had posed as Felnar all along, Kelkor swam his way to follow Kull, catching the Sword of Green Fire that Thulsa Doom's grisp had let go, and giving it to Kull. After Kull defeated Thulsa Doom, he asked Kelkor to claim the high commandership of the Red Slayers, intending to back him despite the Law of Valusia forbiding a Lemurian from claiming the role.[1]
Kelkor was among the party led by King Kull (seconded by Brule the Spearslayer and Bakas) and assaulted by the hordes of Ohris Dehjmal, and was one of the guards guarding his tent after he was wounded in battle. Kelkor shared with Bakas his worries about the surrounding party that besieged them.[3] Whether or not he survived the ensuing battle is unknown.Notes
- Kelkor was created by Robert E. Howard in the Kull stories "Riders Beyond the Sunrise" and "Kings of the Night".
