History

Kerry Wright was a football player, and the backup quarterback for the Vegas Gold Chips. While visiting his sister Terry at the Veterans Center Las Vegas, Kerry was informed that the main quarterback Bruce Campitti had been attacked and injured, so Kerry was to make his debut. When Kerry and Terry left the shelter to head to Las Vegas Stadium, Terry's friend Kaine Parker placed a Spider-Tracer on Kerry's back, suspecting that whoever attacked Campitti could come after Kerry as well.

Kaine's hunch proved correct, and Kerry was attacked by Campitti's attacker, the Hippo, while entering the stadium. As Scarlet Spider, Kaine jumped to Kerry's rescue and eventually defeated the Hippo, and also got from him the name of the person that hired him to injure the Gold Chips' quarterbacks so to benefit their opponents, Marlowe.
