History
Kevin Bacon is a famous Hollywood actor. His early roles in films such as Footloose and Friday the 13th inspired young Peter Quill. After he was abducted from Earth, Quill kept fond memories of Kevin Bacon and kept presenting him as a great Earth hero to his friends among the Guardians of the Galaxy.
Sometime after the Guardians have purchased Knowhere, Mantis and Drax had an idea to present Kevin Bacon as a gift to Peter in order to cheer him up for Christmas. They secretly traveled to Earth and after some searching found Bacon's home in Beverly Hills. After Bacon refused to open a door for them, they busted through and announced his intention to keep him. Bacon ran away and contacted the police, but Mantis and Drax easily caught up with him. Mantis then used her powers to put the police offiers to sleep and persuade Kevin Bacon to come with them. During the journey back, they realized that he was not a great hero, but merely an actor. They found this disgusting, but decided to proceed with their plan anyways and presented Kevin Bacon in a wrapped box as a gift for Peter.
Quill immediately realized what was going and demanded that Mantis release Kevin Bacon from the trance. The actor immediately freaked out and attempted to run, while Quill apologized, attempted to calm him down and promised to get him back home safe. While Kraglin prepared to take Bacon back to Earth on the Bowie, he revealed the importance of the influence he had on Peter, convincing Bacon to stay and celebrate. After singing a song with the alien band on Knowhere, Bacon finally went back home, telling the Guardians that he will see them again at Easter.[1]Notes
