Synopsis for "King of the Badlands"

Reprint of the 1st story from
Kid Colt Outlaw #59
(originally printed as Curtain of Lead!)
Kid Colt is tying up his horse Steel in town when suddenly the Fuller gang comes in with guns blazing. When Kid Colt tries to draw his guns Blackie Fuller gets the first shot, winging the Kid before he and his gang flee town. He learns from the locals that the gang had cleared up the express office and wounded one of the men. Learning that the sheriff is forming a posse, Kid Colt asks to join up.

Meanwhile, Fuller and his gang hear the approach of the posse and he leads his men to the safest place down a tight canyon pass. Kid Colt and the others spot the gang as they are ducking into the pass and try to follow after. However, Kid Colt smells a trap and asks the sheriff to hold off, and just as he suspected Fuller and his gang cause an avalanche that seals the pass.

With the path block and the outlaws having passed out of the sheriff territory, Kid Colt vows that he will bring them back to the area so they can be arrested. Kid Colt takes the long way around the canyon and tracks the gang just as they are setting camp for the night. Waiting until dark, Kid Colt sends his horse Steel to send the outlaw's horses into a stampede. Kid Colt then shoots the guns out of all their hands and then beats Blackie and his gang into submission.

The next morning, Kid Colt brings the rounded up outlaws to town to face punishment for their crimes.
