Synopsis for "Gambling House!"

Reprint of the 1st story from
Kid Colt Outlaw #58
(originally printed as Secret of the Plains!)

Kid Colt has stopped a gang of men he believes had robbed the Fork Bank. However the men shady looking men profess their innocence and after Kid Colt searches their saddle bags finds none of the stolen money and is forced to let them go. After the men leave the scene, the Kid is approached by an donkey riding prospector named Dusty who suggests that the gang must have stashed the money somewhere in the desert.

The next day a stage coach is robbed and when Kid Colt goes after the gang they once more profess their saddle bags. While Kid Colt agrees that their saddle bags are empty, he still believes that they still robbed the stage. This leads to a gun fight between Kid Colt and the gang which draws the sheriff and his posse. With the law in presence both sides stand down, and Kid Colt promises that he will provide proof that the men robbed the stage coach if the sheriff holds them briefly.

Kid Colt then tracks down Dusty and asks him if he recalls where the stolen loot might be hidden. When Dusty says he can't recall, Kid Colt uses his knife to cut open Dusty's saddle bags, dumping all the stolen loot out of the bag. When Dusty tries to pull a gun on Kid Colt, the Kid easily disarms him. Kid Colt brings Dusty back to the sheriff and reveals that the gang used Dusty to stash their stolen loot and the outlaws are brought to justice.
