History

Kim Hong was a television news personality in New York City, recruited by Moon Knight as "Scout" to be part of his Shadow Cabinet agents and informants. How he earned her allegiance is unknown, and Scout was initially unaware of her boss's identity.

Kim Hong was at Brinkstone Prison covering the execution of religious serial killer John DeZoan when Moon Knight infiltrated the prison to confront Demogoblin. A power outage caused by Moon Knight's entry interrupted DeZoan's electrocution, giving him super-powers instead. As Deadzone, DeZoan killed most of the people in the viewing box, including Kim's cameraman. She encountered Moon Knight while trying to get to safety, and learned his role in the Shadow Cabinet for the first time when he called her "Scout".

When he feared he was dying, Moon Knight activated the Legacy protocols to find a potential replacement. Scout helped him test one of his possible subjects, Peter Parker.
