Synopsis for "The Wolf Pit"
Bishop continues his hunt for Cable and the baby. Cable has the advantage since he has jumped forward in the timestream and left booby traps for Bishop throughout the years. Bishop tracks Cable's possible hideouts and forces Rene Merryweather, great-great grandson of Irene Merryweather to reveal information about Cable's appearances. Bishop encounters many groups of people who have been prepared by Cable to fight Bishop should he appear in the timestream looking for the baby. Bishop finally realizes that Cable, with the help of Irene and her descendants, has been laying a false trail of information to keep Bishop from finding him. Bishop also realizes that Cable's time machine only allows him to jump forward in time, not backwards.
Bishop uncovers one clue which leads him to Cedar Rapids, Iowa, where he finds Cable and Hope (now a two-year-old) under attack by mutated animals. Paradoxically, Bishop's presence allows Cable and Hope to escape into the future. Bishop then returns to the present time to find a different way to stop Cable.
