History

King Coal is a member of the Chess Set who battled Alpha Flight and Spider-Man during the auction of the remains of Auric and Silver. During the conflict, Nemesis cut off King Coal's left hand (which he had changed into a sword). He claimed he would be able to regenerate his hand but it would take a long time.
