History

As a young man, he worked as a lowly servant for Zheng Zu in China. One day, the servant came across the corpse of a Yeren, which he immediately brought to his master. From its DNA the two of them created the Yeren Root, when consumed, allowed its users to transform into yeren. Noting the servant's animalistic nature, Zu dubbed him "King Wild Man' and helped him establish a business in New York City's Chinatown to traffic the Root, using a medicine shop as a front.[1]

Many years later when Zheng Zu died, King Wild Man remained loyal to him and refused to accept Zu's son Shang-Chi as the new Supreme Commander of the Five Weapons Society. Wanting to purge his father's evil influence from the Society, Shang-Chi discovered that King Wild Man was continuing his operations, prompting him and Sister Dagger to investigate. King Wild Man's activities also caught the attention of Spider-Man, who teamed up with Shang and Dagger to investigate. Dagger confronted King Wild Man in his shop, prompting him to consume a Root and attack her. Dagger defeated King Wild Man and brought him to her brother and Spider-Man who had just captured King Wild Man's workers at his warehouse. King Wild Man tricked Spider-Man into helping him up, subsequently placing a Root on him and fleeing when Spider-Man transformed into a Yeren. After his escape, King Wild Man was approached by Chieftain Xin who made an offer to him.[1]

King Wild Man and his Yeren later joined up with Lady Iron Fan and her triads, Red Dot and his cyborgs and Shang-Chi's half-sister Sister Staff on Qilin Island where Xin announced his plans to destroy Shang-Chi and the Five Weapons Society.[2]. King Wild Man joined the others at the House of the Deadly Hand and proceeded to carry out Xin's ordes to assassinate Shang-Chi.[3] The attack ended in failure as Sister Staff revealed herself to be a triple agent and helped Shang-Chi and the Society capture King Wild Man and the others. During interrogation, King Wild Man slipped a Yeren Root onto Red Dot, turning him into a Yeren and causing him to go on a rampage. King Wild Man used the opportunity to take Jiang Li hostage, forcing Shang-Chi to let them escape to the roof where they fled through a portal created by Xin to Qilin Island.[4]

King Wild Man and his crew resurfaced in New York City, where they were defeated by Shang-Chi with the Ten Rings.[5]
