History
In a story that parallels most of his Earth-616 counterpart, Klaus Kruger had been a exchange student in the US, meeting with and befriending American students Harry Osborn, Peter Parker (secretly the superhero el Hombre Araña), "Flash" Thompson, Gwen Stacy, and Mary Jane Watson. Klaus became the tyrannical ruler of his homeland Lichtenbad, but his policies were not known internationally. Klaus returned to the United States to forcefully recruit scientists for his plan to build an army of conquering robots, and he invited his university friends to visit. Parker, due to his powers, was skeptic, but agreed to go, particularly when Klaus offered to use Lichtenbadan experts to treat Parker's Aunt May's bad eye condition. Once in Lichtenbad, Parker found a rebellion against Kruger and, as el Hombre Araña, confronted him. Kruger, feeling overwhelmed by the opposition, threw himself from the top of a tower.[1]
