Synopsis for "Savage Tales"

Shuri has come to the Savage Land to negotiate with Ka-Zar for some of the continent's vibranium. However, she runs into some dinosaurs, who attack her before Shanna arrives. Shuri explains her reasons for being there, but Shanna finds her story preposterous, as Ka-Zar has been missing for weeks. Shuri confers with Flea, her techman in space, to analyze blood samples found in Ka-Zar and Shanna's home, as well as a mysterious disk that was on one of the dinosaurs. Flea determines the disk to be some sort of transmitter. The disk lets out an ear-piercing sound that causes Shuri to lose contact with Flea.

Shuri and Shanna then start tracing Ka-Zar's trail. Along the way, they run into orangutans and Zabu, all wearing disks that cause them to go wild. Once they remove Zabu's disk, they discover the engineers of the devices to be AIM, who have established a mining operation in the Savage Land and are using the native creatures to keep others away. Among AIM's numerous captives is Ka-Zar. Shuri fights off the AIM employees, while Shanna frees the animals and her husband. Ka-Zar reveals that the director of this operation is Klaw, who is planning on triggering a volcanic eruption that will destroy all of the Savage Land's vibranium. It's at that moment that Klaw reveals himself and confesses that it was he who posed as Ka-Zar in order to lure Shuri into a trap, so he could assassinate a member of the Wakandan ruling family.

Solicit Synopsis

Klaw, Master of Sound, is no more dead than he is human. The killer composed of living sound is back with a new and deadly plan that will spill blood from the Savage Land to the streets of New York. Shuri, the new Black Panther, has already tried (and failed) to stop this monster –a defeat that owed as much to her own reckless rage than it does to Klaw’s power. So, Shuri turns to the person who knows more about battling inner rage than anyone. If you think you know the Black Panther –you don’t. So don’t miss this installment of NY Times bestseller Jonathan Maberry’s exciting new series.
