—Knull[source]I am Knull. God of the void. Slicer of worlds. Long ago, when light invaded my kingdom, my symbiote children betrayed me and imprisoned here. At last, a codex has been created. It is the key to my freedom. It will unlock this prison. I ordered you to search the corner of the universe, until you find this key. Find me, the codex. And when I escape, and annihilate every living planet and destroy my symbiote offspring, I will reward you.... with your lives...
History
A primordial god of the void, Knull created the symbiotes but was betrayed and imprisoned by them on Klyntar. Requiring a Codex to escape his prison, Knull created the Xenophages to serve him in the symbiotes' place and bided his time for countless millennia. Fleeing his wrath, numerous symbiotes sought refuge on Earth, among them Venom. When Venom created a Codex by resurrecting Eddie Brock, Knull sensed this and dispatched the Xenophages to hunt Venom down and capture it and Eddie so that their Codex could be used to free him.
When the Xenophages failed and Venom's Codex was destroyed as a result of the symbiote's apparent death, Knull vowed revenge, declaring his intent to destroy Earth once he was free.[1]Paraphernalia

Notes
- Andy Serkis portrayed Knull in Venom: The Last Dance.
- Serkis previously portrayed Ulysses Klaue in Avengers: Age of Ultron and Black Panther, and directed Venom: Let There Be Carnage.
- Serkis was interested in directing The Last Dance, but he was unable to due to his commitments to Animal Farm.[citation needed]
- Based on concept art for Kraven the Hunter, the movie was originally going to have a scene depicting the surface of a planet with dead symbiotes. This may have depicted Knull freeing himself and retaking control of the symbiotes, but the scene was scrapped.[2]
