History
The god of the primordial abyss, Knull wielded a mighty blade known as All-Black, the Necrosword that he had once used to strike down a Celestial — one of the oldest and most powerful cosmic entities in the known universe. The creator of symbiotes, Knull was worshipped as a god but his own followers turned on him eons ago. Imprisoned in the center Klyntar, he was biding his time, regaining his strength, in hopes to break free and claim his prize once more.
Awakened by the Timestream Entanglement, Knull began scheming to use the Chronovium it created to facilitate his escape. Asserting dominance over the symbiotes of Klyntar once more, Knull resumed his conquest of the universe by infecting Bast with a symbiote in order to bring the Intergalactic Empire of Wakanda under his sway. When Princess Shuri realized what was going on, she dispatched the Guardians of the Galaxy to Klyntar in order to investigate. Taking an interest in Groot after the Guardians were shipwrecked there, Knull began scheming to capture the Flora colossus so that he could harness Groot's healing factor to create the ultimate symbiote.[1]
