History
When the X-Men were sent to investigate Krakoa, they were held captive. At first, it appeared that the island killed them, but it was later revealed that Vulcan killed them. When Vulcan and Petra's powers were enhanced, they launched it into space. Vulcan was later trapped on Krakoa for his crimes against others.
