History

Slab was one of the Nasty Boys, a group of mutants who served Mister Sinister, a superhuman geneticist who wanted to create a new race of superior mutants. Alongside Gorgeous George, Hairbag and Ruckus, he kidnapped Jean Grey and Cyclops on their honeymoon. However, the other X-Men came to their rescue and managed to beat Slab and the others. Cyclops also freed himself and wounded Sinister, forcing him and the Nasty Boys to flee.
