History

Origin and early years[]

Krokwel was an Ogre mage,[3] and served Otherworld as part of the Corps.

Because Krokwel ingested magic, James Braddock, due to the "misperceptions" he had about those "forbidden magics", ejected him from the Corps. He and Merlyn had him relegated in the Forest of Sorrows, a place with an unquenchable appetite for sorrow, to which he was tied,[1] sentence for eternity to live there.[3]

He became the master of the ancient Lords of the Thousand Sorrows (though those ancient knights allegedly recognized only the sorrow of the forest as their masters). He resided in his pyramid.[1]

Modern Age[]

Sentenced to be erased from reality by the Captain Britain Corps, Fantomex was rescued by Psylocke, who brought him to the Forest of Sorrows, and asked Krokwel to heal him. Krokwel first intended to let Fantomex disappear and Psylocke's sorrow to feed the children in the woods, but then offered her a deal:[3] her sorrow and her capacity to ever feel any of it again.[4]

Once the deed done, Krokwel provided Psylocke and Fantomex a transport, a "mummified dragon", for them to reach the Northern Earth Portal. He also gave Psylocke a vial of poison, in case she would fell into the hands of the Goat's forces.

Captured by the Skinless Man, Psylocke used Krokwel's poison to defeat him.[2]
