History
Early Life[]
Kron Stone was born to Alchemax's Vice-President Tyler Stone and daughter of Chicago Reserve's leader Nancy Herod.[3] Despite being born into a wealthy family, Kron had a loveless and dysfunctional childhood as his parents constantly neglected him. According to him, his parents only had him so they could use as a fashion accessory, and once they had no use of him Kron was left in the care of a caretaker droid. Unfortunately, Nancy failed to reprogram the robot, causing it to treat Kron like a dog and as a result he was put on a leash and be force-fed dogfood. This negatively affected him and led to him becoming an evil psychopath.[4]
Kron was unable to stay in any school due to his violent tendency, until he was finally settled in Alchemax's School for Gifted Youngsters. There he developed a reputation for being smart but prone to violence, and as a result had no friends.
A young Miguel O'Hara also enlisted into the school, but when he was about to enter, Kron got behind him and poured a bucket of water on him, completely unaware that they were secretly half-brothers through their father.[5] The headmistress Angela Daskalakis figured Kron was behind the prank and demanded him to apologize to Miguel. He refused, and when she grabbed him by the hair he went to stab her with his knife only for Daskalakis to dodge it and slam his face in a wall.[6] After class ended, Kron encountered Miguel and apologized to Miguel, but while the latter was swimming in the swimming class he attempted drown him.[7] Though Miguel was knocked out, he was thankfully saved by fellow student Xina Kwan.[8]
At family visit day, while Kron was waiting for his parents' arrival, Miguel's little brother Gabriel accidentally bumped into him. Irritated by this, Kron grabbed Gabriel and pushed him to a nearby tree, but before he could beat the poor boy he was stopped by Miguel's mother Conchata slapping across the face. Soon her husband George got involved, but Kron wasn't intimidated and instead disrespected him and even threw a rock at him. This infuriated George who grabbed Kron and threatened to beat him, until his parents, Tyler and Nancy Stone finally showed up.[3] George asked Tyler to have his son apologize to them, but Kron denied having done anything and demanded that he should apologize instead. Tyler took his son's side, but as George was about to apologize, Conchata interjected by telling both father and son that they were just bullies and her husband would never lower themselves to them. To Kron's dismay, Tyler decided to drop the discussion and forced his son to behave himself.[9]
Playing a game of soccer, Kron was in the team opposite to Miguel's. As they played, Kron as usual taunted Miguel, only to slip and fall to ground. Miguel had hoped he had actually bested Kron, but unfortunately Kron immediately got back up and pulled Miguel's shorts in front of everyone. Embarrassed, Miguel shouted at him, with Kron responding that it was just a joke and daring him to do something about this. At first Miguel thought of punching him, but he quickly changed his mind and just ran, earning further ridicule by Kron. The coach admonished Kron about his behavior and punished him by doing fifty push-ups, though Kron refused and told him to just talk to his father.
He then saw the coach send Kwan to comfort Miguel before calling the class off and telling everyone to go to the showers. Later, Kron confronted Kwan in the girls' locker room under the belief she was conspiring with Miguel against.[10] He threatened her with his knife and as she refused to bow down to him, he decided to pull her towel off her naked body. In that moment, Miguel sneaked behind him, and wrapped another towel around Kron's head to ambush him. Sadly, Kron overpowered Miguel, while Kwan put on a long dress shirt and went to help Miguel, only to be knocked out by Kron. Miguel managed to get away and tried to get help, but mistook the entrance to the shower for exit where Kron cornered him.[11]
As Kron advanced to Miguel, the latter turned the showers on, blasting the homicidal bully with hot water which caused him to drop and lose his knife. Miguel again unsuccessfully tried to get away as Kron tackled him to the ground and began beating him. Thankfully, headmistress Daskalakis caught wind of this, and got Kron off of Miguel by grabbing his hair and throwing him into a container. Kron attempted to retaliate by hitting her from behind with a baseball bat, which ended with the headmistress disarming him and breaking one of his arms. Although Daskalakis informed Kron that a committee meeting would be held for him to be expelled, Kron threatened her that his father would cover for him and she would die for this.[12]
At the meeting, Kron sat back as Xina recounted her account of the incident, only for Tyler to rebuff her claims as allegations that could be false. Miguel feared that even if he gave his testimony, Kron would go unscathed and have his father fired from Alchemax.[13] Because of this he ran away, until he changed his mind and returned to testify just as Tyler was about to close the meeting.[14] Miguel revealed that Kron once tried to murder him in the swimming pool, which Tyler called a lie. Miguel explained that he kept it to himself out of fear of invoking the Stone's wrath but refused to let him get away with this, which irritated Kron who got up to intimidate him. Unfortunately for Kron, he was tricked by Miguel into admitting to his crime due having not worn his skull ring when he tried to drown him. An enraged Kron directly attacked Miguel in front of the entire meeting which was convinced of the bully's fault in this case.[15]
Following the meeting, Tyler tried to argue with the headmistress that Kron should stay in the school as he believed he was showing progress. Daskalakis explained to him that the executive board already decided to have Kron expelled and he should pack up his stuff to leave, enraging Tyler.[16] Back at his dormitory, Kron demanded his father to reverse the decision, only for Tyler to silence him with a slap and order his son to be ready for his leave.[17]
Criminal Life[]
Kron grew to become a homicidal criminal, having started a murderous gang with three other like-minded individuals going by the name of Skin Posse. Due to his difficult time with his family, Kron wished to kill every happy family he and his gang encountered, one of which was Jake Gallows' family. Seeing them in a zoo, Kron simmered at the family's happiness and had gave his men the order to kill them, with him personally gunning down Jake's brother Baldur. Jake attempted to fight back and managed to kill one of the Posse's members, but this only caused the gang to shoot him in his legs. Kron proceeded to kill Jake's mother as well before going up to Baldur's wife Astra. Astra attempted to use her skills in psychology to reason with him and convince that they were truly a happy family, but Kron told her that all families held dark secrets and would cause misery to their members. Telling her that this was a mercy kill, he shot her down. Jake again tried to fight back, leading the Posse to easily subdue him, leaving Jake to beg Kron to also end his life. Kron refused as his only aim was to destroy families and had nothing personal against Jake.
Kron was later caught by the Public Eye and put on trial. He was found guilty, but was only fined 2.2 mega dollars and required to undergo a micro-brain surgery to cure his anti-social behavior which he brushed off thanks to his Black Card. In the courtroom, he approached Jake, and told him that human life was practically worthless and he was sure that Jake would just get over his family's death. Enraged, Jake attempted to strangulate Kron on the spot, forcing security to separate the two men and escort Kron out.[18]
Kron and his gang returned to their usual business and arrived to Grav Park where they saw children playing within the No-Grav Ring. In his twisted view, Kron planned to kill the children in order to prevent them from returning to their families and experience misery. He killed the ring's controller and went to turn the device off to let the children fall to their deaths. Thankfully, Jake, having taken the mantle of the Punisher, arrived and killed the rest of the Skin Posse. Kron, baffled by the fact that Jake didn't simply move on, turned the ring off, telling Jake that these children shouldn't have never been born in this cruel world in the first place. Punisher quickly turned the machine back on, but as he turned to shoot Kron the latter directed his attention to a child falling out of the ring. Punisher saved the child, while attempting to shoot at Kron from a distance. This failed as Kron wore an armor that protected him from fast objects directed at him, and successfully made his escape, proclaiming he was immune to law.
After that, Kron went to eat a slim-synth burger in King's Plaza, unaware that Punisher managed to track him down through his purchase. Going through an alley, Kron was ambushed by the Punisher who hit him in the face with his bat. He immediately switched his armor on, and mocked Jake for thinking he could kill him, before realizing that he was truly alone and with no way out. Kron attempted to justify his behavior by blaming it all on society and his family, but the Punisher didn't care about any of his excuses. He proceeded pull out his knife and slowly stab Kron in his heart as his armor could only block fast impacts.[4] Punisher then grabbed the dying Kron and threw his body into a nearby sewer hole.[5]
Venom[]
Kron was almost dead by the time his body brushed up against the alien symbiote known as Venom, who had been mutating in the sewers for years. The symbiote bonded with Kron and he used his newfound powers to fry a vagrant. Kron then left his I.D. on the vagrant's dead body and placed an anonymous call to the authorities, intending to keep his survival a secret. He remained hidden in the sewers to give his body time to adapt to the symbiote and vice-versa, but decided to leave once he heard about his father getting shot.[5]
Exiting out of sewers and into the downtown, Kron approached the Fenris Gang to ask them about Tyler Stone being shot. The gang leader Bloodmace refused to talk to him, and instead went to attack him. Kron used his acidic fluids to dissolve Bloodmace to a skeleton, and proceeded to the next gang member for questioning, this time getting exactly what he wanted.[2]
Kron broke inside the St. Teresa Hospital through the pipes and out of a bathroom's faucet, surprising a maintenance worker. He made his way to the room Tyler was recovering with the intent to finally kill his father, finding him in the company of Miguel and his former lover Dana D'Angelo. Wanting to protect the people present, Miguel went to punch him, only to realize that Venom was secreting acid from his skin, and instead got out of the room. Dana attempted to protect Tyler from the monster, but he simply threw her aside and prepared to end Tyler's life. As he was about to do so, he was interrupted by the arrival of Spider-Man, triggering within the symbiote a memory of fighting the original Spider-Man when it was with Eddie Brock, inducing within Kron a desire to kill Spider-Man for good.[2]
Venom tackled Spider-Man through the window and as they battled outside of the hospital, Spider-Man managed to strike his opponent and get free, letting Venom to fall to the ground. Despite the the fatal crash, Venom reformed himself and began chasing Spider-Man. However, he soon figured out that Spider-Man was luring him away from the hospital, so he broke back inside the building to attack staff and bring Spider-Man to him. Spider-Man attempted to cover Venom with webbing, which the latter just threw back at the former, before throwing him out of another window. Venom continued his rampage through and returned to Tyler's room, finding that his father had already been transferred, with three SHIELD troopers waiting in his stead. He made quick work of them, and when a full SHIELD squad barged in, Venom grabbed a couple of their guns to shoot them all down. Once he was finished, Venom left the hospital, and later broke inside the Alchemax Building where encountered and killed Miguel's assistant Winston. Soon, Xina and Dana entered the room as soon as they saw Winston's body, Venom got hold of both of them and waited for Miguel to enter as well. Upon Miguel entering, Venom told him that he had only five seconds to choose which one of the women died, else he would kill them both.[19]
Out of instinct, Miguel shouted Xina's name, leading to Venom thinking he chose her over Dana. However, Miguel used his talons to cut Venom's arm holding Dana, with Venom thinking Miguel had a hidden weapon. Miguel took Dana away and closed the door behind them to prevent Venom from reaching them. He tried to break through the door, but as he failed to do so he decided to grab Xina again and smash the building's floor, eventually reaching the garage. There he encountered Dana again, also grabbed her. He then forced Xina to drive them all away. On the road the two women attempted to convince Venom to let the other go, only get yelled at by him ordered to watch the road. Soon, SHIELD and Public Eye agents began closing on their flying vehicles and demanded Venom to surrender. Instead of doing what he was ordered, Venom got up in the back of the car and turned his arms into maces to destroy the flying vehicles. In that moment, Xina swerved the car to avoid hitting a SHIELD agents, directing the car off the maglev bridge. Thankfully, Miguel in his Spider-Man identity, managed to catch the car thanks to his webbing. Spider-Man was about rescue his two love interests, when Venom knocked him away and ran into the Escher Club with both Xina and Dana. There Dana was able to distract Venom long enough to allow Xina to make her escape. The two of them were then cornered by SHIELD who opened fire on Venom. Sadly, the bullets just passed through Venom's body, hitting Dana instead, and with her dying he escaped through a crack in the floor.[20]
In the aftermath of the incident, a citywide alert was issued for the Nueva Yorkers to be cautious of Venom, which he heard afar from a rooftop, putting a smile on his face. Meanwhile, Miguel managed to figure out the symbiote's weakness to sounds, and as Spider-Man he tracked down Venom and began bombarding him with the sound of loudspeakers everywhere. This worked as Venom was immobilized, allowing Spider-Man to beat him down, while the public cheered him up. Soon the symbiote began peeling away from its human host, forcing him to surrender himself to Spider-Man. Spider-Man was unwilling to spare the individual as he was still responsible for his actions, but as the symbiote completely left its host Miguel was shocked to discover that Venom was no other than his longtime tormentor Kron Stone.[17]
Separation[]
Both Kron and the symbiote were captured and brought back to Alchemax where they were detained in separate containment tanks. Kron attempted to break out and lashed out to the staff, until Miguel, currently the head of Alchemax, entered to question him. Kron refused and insulted him, enraging Miguel who told the staff present to leave the the two of them alone. Miguel told Kron that due his bonding with the symbiote he was now of scientific interest, but when he pointed out the people he killed, including his loved ones, Kron just mocked him. At his limit, Miguel opened the tank and offered Kron a challenge that if the former won Kron would have to answer his questions, and the latter won he would be free to go. Believing he could easily win, Kron accepted and the two fought. To his shock, Miguel overpowered thanks to his spider powers, which forced Kron to give up and agree to give him answers. Miguel, however, was overcome with rage over Kron's vile actions and continued ruthlessly beating him up as revenge. Miguel temporarily left the lab to settle other things and when he returned to question Kron brought along Dana's sister Father Jennifer to hear him out. Kron explained to them how he bonded to the symbiote after Punisher assaulted him, covered up his survival and desire to kill his comatose father. To Miguel's shock, Jennifer forgave Kron, since only God could judge him for his actions.[5]
By this time, Tyler had woken and on his hoverchair went to see Kron. The technician studying him explained to Tyler that Kron had retained some features from the symbiote, but Tyler didn't care about any of it and demanded to know if the man was really his son. Upon getting his confirmation, Tyler ordered for Kron to be immediately disposed of. Kron protested this, but Tyler told him that Kron was legally dead and now was just a lab animal that needed to be put down. The technician refused to go through with the order, as Tyler wasn't in charge of Alchemax, instead that post was currently held by Miguel. Tyler decided to go Miguel to convince him to execute Kron, only for Miguel to reject this order as well.[21] Meanwhile, the symbiote broke out and bonded to Roman the Sub-Mariner.[22]
Reunion[]
Due to being severely beaten by Miguel, Kron was set to be transferred to a hospital to treat his injuries. During the transport, Kron broke free of his restrains and escaped. He returned to his old apartment which he had to break in due to being locked. There he recuperated and went to his bathroom to look at his injuries. As he went to take a shower, the Punisher assaulted Kron, having been alerted by a cambot he had placed in the apartment. He would've killed him for good, hadn't for the symbiote, which had separated from Roman, emerged from the shower head and rebonded to Kron. Punisher quickly shot him several times, though it had no effect on Venom, and broke through the window to go back to his flying cycle as the apartment exploded. Venom emerged unscathed, leaped on his cycle and stabbed the Punisher through his head. The Punisher's cycle also exploded due to its safety measure, though Venom again was left unaffected.[1]
With his powers back, Kron planned to get his revenge on Miguel and take over Alchemax. He asked an old acquaintance and fellow criminal Chameleon to assist him with a holosim that would allow him to infiltrate the company. He successfully deceived the security, Conchata and Tyler who were in Miguel's office, but his cover was blown by Miguel's digital assistant Lyla who was able to see through his disguise. The real Miguel himself soon entered, and as soon as arrived Venom went to attack him. He managed to block his attack, and in that moment, Lyla accidentally revealed to Venom that Tyler was also Miguel's father. He was further shocked when Miguel revealed himself to also be Spider-Man and bonded to the symbiote's spawn. Learning that he had a brother who was also bonded with a symbiote, Kron attempted to set their differences aside and convince Miguel to come join him, promising him to spare Conchata and Tyler if he accepted. Miguel was conflicted over this decision, but was convinced by his symbiote to go along with Venom in his rampage in order to subtly control him.[23]
The two symbiote-possessed brothers then proceeded to make their escape and breakout of the Alchemax Building, though Venom was annoyed the Spider-Man wouldn't let them kill people and thought that if Miguel's power wasn't worth it he would kill him. Upon leaving the area, they discussed their next course of action in their rampage across Nueva York. Their discussion was interrupted by Strange's astral form who asked Spider-Man to let her heal him. Spider-Man refused, and Venom convinced him to bring them to her place to directly confront. They broke into the Sanctum Sanctorum where instead of Strange they found the Vulture stealing the magical artifacts. Venom and Spider-Man decided to straight up kill him, forcing the overwhelmed cannibal to flee mostly empty-handed.[24]
Venom watched on as Spider-Man caught Vulture mid-flight and let him fall to his death after webbing his wings. Strange intervened by teleporting the cannibal away and again tried to reason with Miguel. This irritated Venom who went to attack her, only to accidentally lunge into Spider-Man due to her being an illusion. He attempted to ransack the Sanctorum, but after seeing that he was blocked from entering by a forcefield Venom and Spider-Man moved on to cause chaos elsewhere. They broke inside the Natural History Museum where they destroyed the artifacts stored inside, but as fought back against the Public Eye operators, Spider-Man was fed up with Venom's disregard for life, prompting him to swing away. Venom tracked his younger brother to a rooftop where he was talking to his other brother Gabriel. Fearing that he may convince Miguel to turn on him, Venom killed Gabriel and threw his body aside. This was the last straw for Miguel who was filled with rage and went to attack Venom.[25]
That was exactly what Venom wanted, to push Spider-Man to the edge and snap. He gloated in their dysfunctional relationship and their status as immortal monsters, and urged Spider-Man to purge his merciful nature. When Venom tried to swing away, Spider-Man ram into him, crashing inside a business building. The two fought, with Spider-Man smashing Venom through the floor. Getting back up on his feet, Venom took a nearby worker hostage to lure Spider-Man to him, but saw that he was actually leaving. Baffled at Spider-Man for straight up leaving, Venom exited the building and caught up to him. In that moment, Spider-Man connected his symbiote to Venom's to convince it to leave Kron for him. Although Kron proved to be a useful servant for the Venom symbiote, it accepted Miguel's offer and left Kron to merge with its spawn. Now without a symbiote, Kron lost his balance, and despite begging his brother to save him, Spider-Man let Kron fall to his presumed death.[26]Personality
Since he was a child, Kron was a sociopathic bully who took joy in tormenting others and was quick to anger. As soon as Miguel join Alchemax's school, Kron pulled mean pranks on him before attempting to outright kill him when the latter sought to fight back. Despite seemingly receiving no love from his family, Kron grew spoiled, believing he was above authority figures and as such he could do whatever he wanted. He had no qualms in attacking Miguel's younger brother and when confronted by his parents, he refused to apologize and demanded that they should apologize instead. Kron was also paranoid, misogynistic and perverted, being convinced that Xina was conspiring against him with Miguel, stripping her and deeming both her and the headmistress weak. When fighting Miguel, Kron was filled with excitement and bloodthirst, and when the headmistress intervened he tried to unsuccessfully sneak up on her. Although he used his father to get away with most of his crimes, Kron held a deep-seated hatred towards Tyler.[27]
As an adult, Kron became a full-on sadistic and delusional serial killer and gang leader, though he didn't care about his underlings at all. Despising the sight of happy families, he convinced himself and his gang members that a happy family didn't exist and instead they hid great lies, and considered killing these type of families as mercy. Kron even believed that the world was too cruel for the innocent children and they shouldn't have been born in the first place. He saw no value in human life or happiness, his only drive being to cause suffering. He was genuinely surprised that Punisher was still furious over the death of his family, and begged to not be killed.[28] After bonding to the Venom symbiote, Kron became much more wrathful, planing to finally kill father for good and taking out everyone who stood in his way. This included Spider-Man, who, due to the possible influence of the symbiote, became Kron's main target, and was willing to sacrifice the people near them to accomplish his.[29] After learning that Miguel was Spider-Man, his half-brother and bonded to an evil symbiote of his own, Kron immediately left all of their rancors behind and asked him to join in their rampage across Nueva York. Kron had wished to turn Miguel into a monster just like him, or else he would've killed him for being weak.[30]Attributes

Trivia
- Kron's unique power set, such as acidic blood and saliva, is a reference to the Xenomorphs. Incidentally, one of John Romita's unused concepts for Venom 2099 resembled a Xenomorph, possessing a tail and spikes protruding from its shoulders and back.
- This design would later be repurposed for Carnage 2099.
- While bonded to the Venom symbiote, Kron at first referred to themselves as "we", similar to Eddie Brock, before quickly changing to "I".[2] This may suggest that Kron and the symbiote were in perfect symbiosis and considered themselves a singular being, similar to Carnage, though it could be that either Kron or the symbiote was ascertaining their dominance over the other. Symbiote Spider-Man 2099 #5 implied that the symbiote was in fact the dominating one, but allowed Kron to go on his own accord.
