Synopsis for "Night of the Red Slayers!"

The scene opens with a late night brawl, in the heat of the night. Ridondo is involved in this and has taken a fancy for the blacksmith’s daughter. In previous issues he is a conspirator against Kull without his full knowledge. The next day, King Kull has to be about his Royal duties and talking to his counselor Tu. The days are hot, and Kull has little interest in his regal duties. Ducalon leads the conspirators (Rebel Four) on a trek to meet Melkori a sorcerer and see the magic he can work for gold. He makes an eye and an unrevealed creation to the reader. Shortly after, the blacksmith of the girl, is killed by a Red Slayer, and a large amount of gold is taken from his corpse.. Back to the castle we see Melkori appear with his daughter Jirane who dances for Kull. Melkori makes known that she would desire a trip in the cooling ocean breeze. King Kull makes arrangements for this. Arhat night, some more slayings by the Red Slayers occur. In the morning, Brule sees what appears to be Alecto, and throws his spear, killing him and rides off to warn Kull of the treachery. On the boat Jirane dances but falls. Kull notices some wax on the deck of the boat. All men in attendance thought she was an exquisite and lithe dancer. By evening, Jirane has made some wine which made Kull’s head heavy. Eventually Brule arrives and makes his way to the ship and warns Kull of the treachery of foot. Kull binds Jirane to the mast after she tries to kill him with a knife. Eventually, she begins melting as a wax figurine. Kull returns soon enough to confront some of the wax figures that were made to look like the Red Slayers. Alecto, swears his allegiance, and Kull quickly recognizes his voice, and it’s all he needs to know his allegiance. Eventually Kull and his men with Brule demonstrate to his people, that there was no blood in the voiceless Red Slayers, and that they were just wax figurines, that would even melt with intense heat. Melkori is handed over to the people and they reek their vengeance. The story ends with rain cooling the land and bringing a smile to King Kull’s face.
