History

Nightcrawler was seemingly the only mutant turned into a human by the V-Wave who got out of Krakoa alive, having teleported out to the sea mere seconds before he was completely converted, thus escaping death at the hands of the mutant half that was turned into vampires. Leaving his name behind with the dead, Kurt eventually made his way back to the United States of America and formed the Last Avengers with the Prowler and Silver Sable, taking up the mantle of Citizen V as part of his team's little joke about his accent. Together, they kept fighting the good fight in a world dominated by vampires.

In the second anniversary of V-Day, Citizen V rescued Amadeus Cho from Blade and took him to the Last Avengers' hideout. There, Amadeus said he had encrypted a cure for vampirism for the Vampire King of New York City, the person whom he had been working for since the day he became a vampire. Hoping they could use this cure to restore the world as it was before the V-Day, Citizen V and his teammates convinced Amadeus to help them get inside Fisk Tower Zero to find it.

Amadeus instructed the trio to access the sub-basement of the building through the sewers, and use the shaft of the broken elevator there to make their way up to the penthouse. In the meantime, he would try to distract the King and his henchmen. However, the King was already suspecting Amadeus would return and try to do something against him, so he had his men set an ambush in the new elevator he bought to replace the broken one. Silver Sable sacrificed herself to allow her teammates to survive the trap. The Prowler died soon afterwards, due to the aerosolized silver Blade used to gas the vampires in the building.

Upon arriving at the top floor, Citizen V intercepted Blade as he was about to get to Amadeus. Because Amadeus told him earlier that Blade was possibly possessed by La Magra, the Blood Demon whose summoning to earth caused the V-Day, Citizen V tried to convince him to fight the demon while they fought. Since Blade wasn't really possessed by La Magra, Citizen V's pleas fell on deaf ears and he was stabbed through the heart by the Daywalker, dying shortly thereafter.[1]
