History
Eons ago, Gitche Manitou (the Great Spirit of the Manidoog) emerged from the extradimensional realm of Giizhigong into an endless void of nothingness and, working with his son Tawa, began creating mortal worlds, as well as Sotuknang, the first mortal being who was to act as their instrument and model the world according to their universal plan.[1][2]
Kuskurza, their Third World, was borne from the icy wasteland that destroyed their ill-fated Second World. But the inhabitants of Kuskurza repeated the mistakes made by the inhabitants of the previous worlds, causing Kuskurza to be destroyed by a great flood. Those inhabitants of Kuskurza deemed to be “pure of spirit” were protectively sealed within the hollow stems of tall plants and later allowed to transcend to the current world known as “Tuwaqachi” in the Earth realm. The remnants of Tokpela and other survivors continued to exist, however, as one of the “Secret Worlds” guarded by the Ghost Dancer.[1][2]
In modern times, James Owl visited Kuskurza while on a vision quest to determine his worthiness to become the next Ghost Dancer.[1]See Also
