History
Kylus was a winged Inhuman within the concealed society of Attilan. Over 3000 years ago these winged individuals, viewing themselves as superior to their non-winged counterparts, grew increasingly dissatisfied with the confines of the city.
Kylus, acting as a representative for the winged Inhumans, approached King Nestor to convey their frustrations. After deliberation, Nestor granted them permission to construct a floating city known as the Aerie. Equipped with anti-gravity engines, the winged Inhumans successfully elevated the Aerie above Attilan, securing it in place with a stabilizing pylon. However, as tensions escalated between the winged and non-winged Inhumans, the Aerie inhabitants began discarding their waste into Attilan, further fueling animosity.
Over time, Kylus devised a plan for the Aerie to secede entirely from Attilan. When the bat-winged Inhuman named Cheiros voiced opposition and advocated for compassion, Kylus reacted by imprisoning him. With the announcement of their secession, Kylus implemented a ruthless policy, decreeing the execution of all Aerie inhabitants lacking white feathery wings, in an attempt to eliminate perceived weaknesses within their ranks. As Cheiros faced imminent death, King Nestor intervened by ordering the disconnection of the Aerie from its stabilizing pylon.
The consequences were severe: for months, the Aerie drifted aimlessly around the planet, subjected to the unpredictable forces of the sun and storms. The winged Inhumans, lacking farmland and livestock, faced starvation. To survive, they resorted to hunting Human's livestock, occasionally being mistaken for the mythical Harpies of Greek myth. Eventually, they managed to cultivate land and utilize technology to sustain their floating city. In the twilight of his reign, King Kylus matured into a wise ruler. However, he eventually passed away, leaving behind a legacy mourned by his subjects who would one day be called the Bird People.[1]Attributes
