History

La Folie was formed at some point after 8150 with the stated goal of ending persistent land disputes among French barons. The rebel group often used methods described as terrorism.

In 8162, La Folie was led by Trevalle. His second-in-command was Colonel Gescaux who was secretly preparing a coup against Trevalle, planning to repurpose La Folie into a criminal organization.

In order to free two La Folie members imprisoned in Greater Britain, Trevalle took hostage the World Development Council's ambassador to Greater Britain Raymond Golding. Dragon was assigned to make the exchange.

Fearing that the former prisoners, Legris and Ostleur, would unmask his duplicity, Gescaux attempted to kill them before they could reach Trevalle. He and several of the men loyal to him were killed in the ensuing fight with Dragon, thus, ending the coup before it ever started.[2]

Notes

"La folie" translates from French as "madness".
