Lactuca's face may not be seen
Origin[]
Lactuca is a mutant from Arakko. She is also a Universal Shaper,[6] and considers the universe to be her mother and a fellow mutant and Universal Shaper Eden Fesi to be her little brother.[5] For some reason her face may not be seen[6] so she always covers her entire body in a black cloth with star-like patterns with only the silhouette of the body partially visible sometimes.[7]
At some point she had joined the Great Ring of Arakko, and currently holds the Seat of Above-Us[6] on the Table of Day.[8]
Planet Arrako[]
Lactuca was one of the three members of the Great Ring who assisted omega-level mutants of Earth in terraforming the planet Mars. Lactuca shared her knowledge about the position of everything to aid Marvel Girl and Exodus in moving the entirety of the island of Arakko to Mars using the External Gate without overshooting their mark.[1]
When Tarn the Uncaring threatened Krakoa during a meeting of the Great Ring, Lactuca warned him that the Table of Day would crush him before allowing him to attack Krakoa.[9]
Judgement Day[]
During Uranos's attack on the Arakko, Lactuca and Sobunar went to protect the planet from his weapons. Lactuca sealed the breach into dimension of pure destructive force that was opened by one of the weapons.[7]
They were later joined by Storm and together destroyed another weapon. Lactuca then shared her knowledge about the situation on the planet with Storm to let her judge where they are needed the most. The three returned to the Great Ring and assisted Magneto in taking down another of Uranos' weapons.[2]
Genesis War[]
When Genesis returned to Arakko and challenged the Great Ring Lactuca hadn't cared for it and stayed neutral until Lodus Logos had convinced her to interfere because Genesis was using the Annihilation Staff's power to sway the minds of the Great Ring's members. To level the chances of the side that opposed Genesis, Lactuca teleported all of them away. Genesis was enraged and Ora Serrata stated what it could be treated as a challenge from Lactuca. Lactuca confirmed that Genesis could consider it as a challenge if she wanted to, but Genesis refused and walked away.[4]
In the following days of the civil war Lactuca stayed with the remnants of the Great Ring, but hadn't supported Genesis. She took no actions and remained a neutral watcher.[10]Personality
Lactuca seems to not care of matters that do not involve the universe, her domain (seat of Sky in the Great Ring), her "little brother" Eden, or a challenge against her or of Arakko. More recently, she's had more focus on Eden and the universe itself, and cared less of what happens to Planet Arakko during its civil war.
Lactuca does seems to have a fondness of balance, as she cared enough to tip the scales of a unfair challenge against Storm by a Annihilation influenced Genesis.[4]Attributes
Powers
Space Communication: Lactuca is an Omega Level mutant[1] and a Universal Shaper.[6] She can manipulate space and the universe on a large scale, similarly to her "little brother" Manifold, but unlike him, she doesn't talk with the universe, but sings to it.[6] She was able to close a dimensional rift in space that housed an armada of Uranos's weapons.[7] And was also able to interfere with Manifold's teleportation and change his destination.[11] It is currently unknown if she have the same limitation as Eden and can affect only her native universe or her powers also work in other realities.
- Spatial Awareness / Omniscience: Lactuca knows the position of everything[1], sees all[7] and knows all things.[4] She is able to see, feel, and know all through the point of view of other beings.[2][1]
- Teleportation: Lactuca can teleport herself and others.[7]
- Remote Teleportation: Lactuca can also teleport others without teleporting herself.[4]
- Flight[7][2]
- Size Increase: Lactuca was able to grow to gigantic size to combat one of the weapons of Uranos hovering in space above Planet Arakko.[7] During the final battle of mutants against Orchis and Enigma, Lactuca grew large enough to hold dozens of mutants in her hand.[11]
- Undetectability: At least when she is in the outer space Lactuca can hide herself and others from other beings senses. She hoped what she was strong enough to hide even from extremely powerful beings like Enigma.[11]

- Lactuca has been described using both she/her[6][2][11] and they/them[1] pronouns, with no stated preference as yet.
- Lactuca referred to Manifold as her "mother's child"[12] and "little brother".[12][13][11] Manifold previously referred to Captain Universe as mother,[14] but it is unclear if Lactuca also referred to Captain Universe, or meant the universe itself to be her and Eden's mother.
