History
Lamia was a Libyan queen and the lover of Zeus, whom Hera cursed into becoming a snake-woman that stole children to drink their blood.
Her apparent descendants, the Lamia (and/or Lamia herself) were active in Ancient Greece, under the form of a half-woman, half-snake creature stalked the night in search of blood, but only attacked children.[2][1]See Also
