History

The Last Avengers were a group of heroes who kept fighting the good fight after the V-Day, event in which a dark magic called V-Wave transformed most of the world population into vampires. The team consisted of Citizen V, formerly the mutant hero known as Nightcrawler, now a human due to the effects of the V-Wave; the Prowler, one of the billions of humans converted into vampires during V-Day; and Silver Sable, still a human being.

In the second anniversary of V-Day, Citizen V rescued Amadeus Cho from Blade and took him to the Last Avengers' hideout. There, Amadeus said he had encrypted a cure for vampirism for the Vampire King of New York City, the person whom he had been working for since the day he became a vampire. Hoping they could use this cure to restore the world as it was before the V-Wave, Citizen V and his teammates convinced Amadeus to help them get inside Fisk Tower Zero to find it.

Amadeus instructed the trio to access the sub-basement of the building through the sewers, and use the shaft of the broken elevator there to make their way up to the penthouse. In the meantime, he would try to distract the King and his henchmen. However, the King was already suspecting Amadeus would return and try to do something against him, so he had his men set an ambush in the new elevator he bought to replace the broken one. Silver Sable sacrificed herself to allow her teammates to survive the trap, apparently falling to her death at the bottom of the elevator shaft as she shot as many of the King's men as possible. The Prowler died soon afterwards, falling victim to the aerosolized silver Blade used to gas the vampires in the building.

Upon arriving at the top floor, Citizen V intercepted Blade as he was about to get to Amadeus. Because Amadeus told him earlier that Blade was possibly possessed by La Magra, Citizen V tried to convince him to fight the Blood Demon while they fought. Since Blade wasn't really possessed by La Magra, Citizen V's pleas fell on deaf ears and he was stabbed through the heart by the Daywalker, dying shortly thereafter. With the death of all of its members, the team came to an end.[1]
