History
Laura Dunham is Richard Rider aka Nova's former girlfriend. She and Nova were involved in a fender bender and exchanged numbers.[1] Laura's family were affluent, which made Richard uncomfortable about the prospect of meeting them during the holidays. Laura once invited Rich to her family's ski cabin in Vermont.[2]
Nova briefly suspected Laura of being Tailhook, a vigilante killing college rapists.[3] Although she wasn't, Laura did help Tailhook escape capture, which led to a rift between Rich and Laura.[4] Once Namorita returned to the New Warriors after a sabbatical, she and Rich confessed their feelings for each other and Rich stopped dating Laura.[5]
Laura stayed friends with Nova after their breakup. She called the New Warriors to warn them that Rich was going to try to jump off a bridge in an attempt to reactivate his powers.[6]
