Notes
- Ex-mutants was an independent comic created by writer David Lawrence and artist Ron Lim. It was first published by Eternity Comics, and other publishers after it (Amazing, Pied Piper, Malibu), After a legal dispute with Malibu comics, this latter company claimed rights to the copyright of the property and the characters (the creators shared the ownership) Malibu published a shared universe of their own called "Shattered Earth" and later published a rebooted version with new characters. Whe Marvel bought Malibu in 1994, they inherited the same rights as Malibu to the property (original and reboot), so that's the reason why Marvel Database covers their pre-Malibu appearances (for similar case, see Marvelman).
Trivia
- The volume was cancelled as this issue was being produced (Due to the mentioned legal dispute), so only five pages of the original plot were drawn. The rest of the issue was drawn by a different team, intending to made a quick and tragic end for the team. Malibu returned to the series continuity in Ex-Mutants: The Shattered Earth Chronicles Vol 1 using the same plot points of this isssue, and solved the dire situation easily. This issue was never printed by Malibu itself, despite that the events of this issue are pivotal for the next series of the Ex-mutants.
