History
Lemuel Joad was an inhabitant of the town of Starkesboro, in New England. He was a childhood playmate of Ethan Stoddard.
During the years Ethan left for "the city", Lemuel gradually acquired the characteristic eyes and slope of forehead of the people of Starkesboro.
When Ethan returned along with Doctor Strange during an inquiry on possibly sinister schemes going on in the town, he crossed paths with Lemuel, asking him for the library before recognizing him, and expressing his surprise towards Lemuel's physical alteration. Lemuel burst at him his pride of being a Starkesboro man, and to have the look of such, before leaving.[1]
