History

Lemuel Sullivan was one of the eight patriotic volunteers recruited by M-Branch, a secret government program formed to create artificial superhumans. He was subjected to intense mutagenic experiments involving cosmic rays and/or gamma rays, designed to replicate the powers of the Fantastic Four and the Hulk. As a result, Sullivan developed incredible superhuman strength and durability, he would being assigned the codename Colossus in honor of the presumed-dead X-Man.

Sullivan is highly experienced in combat strategy, even though he was a natural intellectual and introvert and often sought nonviolent solutions; he was made field leader of X-Force. Perhaps do to being the only non-commissioned office among them. However, the unstable experimentation soon led to severe radiation poisoning, killing some of his teammates and leaving the rest struggling for survival. When Roland Blaisdell, M-Branch’s ruthless leader, decided the group was expendable, Sullivan and the remaining X-Force members fought to escape. After witnessing the apparent death of Dazzler and the betrayal of Rogue, Sullivan fled with Havok, Storm, and Dr. Ilsa Moon, aided by Cloak and Dagger.

Once free, Dagger’s light powers miraculously purged the radiation from Sullivan and the other survivors. Taking this second chance, Sullivan adopted the new alias of The Wall and went on the run with his teammates, determined to dismantle M-Branch and stop Blaisdell’s unethical experiments. With Dr. Moon providing medical and financial assistance, Wall became a key figure in the resistance against M-Branch, fighting to expose their operations and prevent further abuse of superhuman experimentation.[2]
