History
In 1495, the Brotherhood of the Shield's patriarch Leonardo da Vinci and his assistants, Pietro Perugino and Lorenzo di Credi, discovered that there was something in the Sun, draining its energy. To investigate it, Leonardo built a flying suit capable of both time and space travel and departed from 1503 to 1956. At the Sun, he found the Celestial Madonna giving birth to the Star Child.[2][3]
Leonardo had left behind the original Life Model Decoy[1] before going to the future, and he had transferred his knowledge to the decoy so it could live as he would have.[4] When the decoy died, it was buried in Amboise, France by Leonardo's successor, Galileo Galilei. At some point, its tomb was visited by Sir Isaac Newton.[3]

Centuries later, in 1961, Nick Fury, Jake Fury, and Thomas Davidson went on a secret mission to Chateau d'Amboise and opened Leonardo da Vinci's tomb, finding the decoy. It became the prototype for modern LMDs.[5]
