Early Life
General Lewis Haywerth was a high ranking U.S. Army officer.
Control
When Dr. Reed Richards wrote a paper showing the need to defend the country and the planet, the US government and General Edward Harrison followed his advice and formed Control. He recruited Lewis, General "Thunderbolt" Ross, General Cecil B. Slinkard, Industrialist Howard Stark, and scientist; Dr. Bolivar Trask. He hoped they could monitor all future scientific progress with hopes of ending threats before they began.[1]
Project: Homegrown
General Haywerth was put in charge of the Weapon Plus program Project Homegrown as part of Weapon VII. They produced a Super-Soldier named Nuke who was controlled by specialist drug.[2]
Daredevil
He hired Nuke out to the Kingpin in his efforts to destroy Daredevil. He failed and was was returned to Heywerth. Captain America confronted Haywerth about the creation of Nuke. He then attempted to rehabilitate Nuke but failed and he escaped and went on a rampage and was killed in a fire fight.[3]
