The Liberty Bell, is an iconic symbol of American Independence, located in Philadelphia, Pennsylvania. Once placed in the steeple of the Independence Hall, the bell today is located across the street in the Liberty Bell Center in Independence National Historical Park. The bell first cracked when rung after its arrival in Philadelphia. The Bell is engraved with the inscription; "Proclaim Liberty Throughout All the Land Unto All the Inhabitants thereof."[1]
History
20th century[]
In the 1940s the Red Skull captured and brainwashed the Invaders and sent them to destroy various American landmarks such as the Statue of Liberty, the Lincoln Memorial and the Liberty Bell. Captain America was sent to destroy the bell but was stopped and brought to his senses by the Liberty Legion.[2]
In 1949, the Flatulans traveled to the Third Dimension and took people and object relating to "American Culture". They kidnapped President Harry Truman and stole both the Declaration of Independence and the Liberty Bell. The Human Torch and Sun Girl came to the rescue and stopped them.[3]
Modern Age[]
Flag-Smasher and his group, U.L.T.I.M.A.T.U.M., tried to destroy the Liberty Bell but was stopped by the Liberteens.[4]
Storm visited the bell on her trip to Philadelphia to honor her fallen friend, Jim Rhodes, who had been born and raised in the city.[1]
The Sons of Hancock took control and Independence Hall and move the Liberty Bell back to the tower. They planned to use a sonic device created by Ulysses Klaue to take control of people's mind and take the country back. Captain America came to stop them and was forced to use his shield to destroy the bell throwing it at the tower shattering it into pieces and then took down the insurgence with ease. The bell was later recast and Cap attended the ceremony to coumarate it back on display.[5]

The Black Scythe attacked hundreds of cities, including Philadelphia at the Liberty Bell, Chicago, London, and Paris, with a toxic gas that killed countless more people.[6]Notes
