History

The Lords of Light and Darkness were a group of scientists who were transformed into super humans when their government lab was destroyed by an earthquake and they were irradiated. When they detected the Phoenix onboard a plane nearby, they attacked the plane, hoping to use her energies to escape Earth. They captured the Phoenix along wither her fellow X-Men and Spider-Man. They were transported into space by the combined powers of the X-Men where they transformed again into a phenomenon that was perceived from earth as a new star.
